Elizabeth “Libby” Dole (R-N.C.)
![]() |
Claims to fame: U.S. Senator from North Carolina; Secretary of Transportation under Ronald Reagan; Secretary of Labor under Bush I; former President of the American Red Cross; wife of Bob Dole; adulterer
Moral apex: See Bob Dole.
Suggested Bible reading for Ms. Dole: None at the moment. With her right-moderate stance on choice and still-burgeoning campaign toward equal rights for women, we’re hoping she’ll wake up and turn Dem one day. Almost a feminist, she’s got a long way to go, however, before she comprehends the sort of democracy that’s good for the people, what with her Bush-like takes on foreign policy, nukes, and free trade. She’s against same-sex marriage, but she could be redeemed. (At least she’ll hire queers.) In the end, she’s more a traditional conservative, rather than these fruitcakes you’re used to seeing lately. Doesn’t make her right; just means you could probably have a conversation with her, without wanting to kill yourself.
Verdict: Wait and see.
